I am not sure how Gillece can expect to charge people for a service if they do not have the tools to get the job done:. They had no problem taking our $99.. He even tried to talk it up like he did me a favor because he said he did a number of passes instead of the 1 the promotion called for because he had trouble getting his snake out". I am not sure how that is a benefit to me considering he needs to get his equipment out of the sewer line regardless'.
Some of the flooding had drained and we spent another $200 to have someone come out and remove the water/. Within a week and a half to 2 weeks, the line was backing up again.. Frustrated, we called RotoRooter". The guy came out, spent about the same amount of time here as Gillece did and only charged us $11 more than Gillece.
RotoRooter got the job done. Although we know work will need done on the line, he got it to drain and said we should be good for a few months, not the less then 2 week the Gillece work lasted. I waited a couple weeks to see, and the drain is still not backing up and our basement has remained completely dry since RotoRooter came.
I have contacted Gillece to complain and request a refund. I asked for a supervisor and explained what happened. She advised me to fax the RotoRooter receipt to her attention and if the services were the same, she said they 'usually' refund the money. She said it will take 7 to 10 days. So what happens there remains to be seen, however it WAS the same exact service and Gillece did not get the job done. Not refunding the money would be akin to stealing, in my mind because we paid for a service we did not get.
I urge others who need this type of service to avoid Gillece at all costs. Even if they refund my money, we should not have wasted our time with them, plus the $200 to have someone drain the water from the basement only to have it flood again due to Gillece's inability to do the job. They apparently do not possess the tools necessary to snake a sewer line and will require the hassle of further communication to get a refund. Save yourself a headache and call someone else. 35b3c93

| 1. Written by Billy on August 28, 2010 I had Roto-Rooter come out and try to clean my sewer with what turned out to be a kitchen snake. They hit tree roots and I thought the snake was going to break. They finally gave up and told me I needed to dig up the sewer line (for about $6,000). I called A-1 Sewer Cleaning Specialists in McKeesport [Phone: (412) 664-4212 or (88 342-1135 or (88 576-1264]. The came out with a much bigger snake and in an hour had the sewer open. I was surprised that they could open the drain when Roto-Rooter couldn't. The owner told me "Son, I follow Roto-Rooter all over the city!" They charged me only $107 dollars for the visit. They also told me to go buy some copper sulfate at the hardware store and put it down the toilet once a year. This keeps the tree roots from coming back. That was really great and cheap advice. |
