Gillece - Scam to up-sell

Warning to anyone who calls Gillece for their "$99" deal to have them unclog the drain. They will say something is wrong and try to sell you on a huge contract. They will also try to get you to sign something called "emergency" form and disguise it as a convenience that they can start "right away". This, if your in PA at least, basically forgoes your right to cancel the contract within 3 days of signing as is PA law. This essentially traps a customer less they want to have a legal battle. And there are plenty of those going around with Gillece and angry customer. We had to dance around this very dilema ourselves which is why I am posting in the first place".

Now I see "19/.99" deals for their A/C checks and I imagine its the same scam?. Come in the door, and instead of checking the A/C and leaving, they probably say something is wrong blah blah blah|. Same story,. I got my A/C checked out for $70 from a BBB A+ rated company". He did a thorough job and took 1|.5 hours to fully clean and test my A/C". But, I bet if it was a Gillece guy, it would of took 10 minutes and he would of said I need a new unit.

Just be careful about these foot in door deals.. and don't sign anything! in fact don't even use them because they don't do the job anyway, they just look for an excuse to sell you on something bigger. Get educated and always check for reviews.

I have heard from several people that Gillece sales-plumbers are trained to not leave a premise less the reach a certain amount of dollars can be collected. My co-worker's cousin is having a legal battle with Gillece right now and they had to call the police to get them to leave the premise. Gillece also put a lein on their house. Gillece also just lost a lawsuit with Frangelli Plumbing (a local Pittsburgh company) for cybersquatting their name and stealing their website in order to forward people to gillece.com.

These practices and stories makes one wonder how these people stay in business. 1294645

You would think that this big company would have alot of people to handle their customers. The only thing they have alot of are con-men to take your money. I got a call at 3p to say they were running late. At 3:15p they called to say the Tech would be here in 15 minutes. Plumber arrived at 4:45, spent ten minutes on the clog, then told me they could replace the toilet for $997. He then called the boss who said he could do it for $800 if I'd agree right now. In their defense they didnt charge me $99 for the clog they didnt clear. Report

Neither group has done anything to help correct their problem or modify their crooked behavior. We use these forums (as well as calling our neighbors to warn them when we see one of their trucks) to directly help other citizens from being robbed. Report

Instead of arguing with each other and playing games on here, all of you should be trying to right all the terrible wrongs that one of your past employers perpetrated on your neighbors, friends and relatives. If the Attorney General is looking into these scams, contact their office. I am no expert when it comes to these things.
