My elderly mother called Gillece for a simple gas line disconnect in order to move the stove to have linoleum replaced in her kitchen. Gillece coerced her using fear of her house blowing up to upcharge this service into a $5500!.00 job of replacing all of her gas lines:. The serviceman told her he smelled gas and she was in danger..

There were flooring technicians there who did not smell any gas". Also there were workers there a few days later who were remodeling her bathroom". We had their master plumber check out the work and he stated the charge was completely ridiculous;. Even if he DOUBLED his costs he could not come up with a bill that high|.

DO NOT EVER USE GILLECE PLUMBING AND HEATING FOR ANY REASON/. And NEVER allow Gillece to go anywhere near any elderly person alone to do any work. 35b3fed

I phoned Gillece services to have them come to my home to inject freon refrigerant into our central AC unit. It took 2 days of cancellations for them to finally show up. The technician refused to perform the service I requested unless I first allowed him to: acid wash the coils of the unit and perform a full leak inspection of the furnace and AC unit inside and outside of the house, which would cost $2100.00. The technician then went on to explain that it was obviously less expensive to just purchase a new central AC unit from them & offered to have me fill out a credit application on the spot! I asked him to PLEASE just put the refrigerant in the AC unit. He flatly refused, stating that without first performing the $2100.00 cleaning & leak test that he would lose his HVAC license. The Gillece tech. left with my $95.00 fee for his showing up to do nothing. I knew I had just been severely ripped off, but paying for the service call, as I had agreed to, when I thought I was going to get service was the only way to get him out of my house! I've heard about companys like this, but never actually had contact with one before. SCARY!!!!! Another company came to our home the next day and performed the service for $175.00 including the overtime fee because it was a saturday.

Yes, report them to the Attorney General. With the new Home Improvement laws, there are MORE penalties if the customer is over a certain age. I can't remember the exact age, but I'm sure she qualifies. It's to protect all homeowners but especially seniors.

I wouldn't go near this company. They are in the same class as Roto Rooter. You will be overcharged and God pity you if your a senior citizen. They sell on fear. If you have been ripped and have proof, please call the Attorney General's office. They are compiling information.
