Gillece of Pittsburgh attempted to rip me off when they came to my house to look at my central air conditioning unit that was not working. The service man (Adam) looked at the unit with a few instruments and determined that the "motherboard" was "fried". He went on to tell me that this would be very expensive,since my unit (tappen) was a cheap unit and parts were difficult to find, ultimately quoting me a price of nearly $1200.00. Since it was 90 degrees I agreed to allow him to order the part and schedule service. After he left, I went on line and discover that the part was very easy to find, and the price....a mere $123.00. My wife called Gillece and asked why we were being charged such an expensive price and they said that the part itself was over $900.00. What a bunch of crap. Gillece Co. has no integrity or ethics whatsoever, and apparently management has convinced their employees to act in the same dishonest manner. In this particular case I installed the board myself in about 15 minutes for $123.00. Do NOT use these rip off artists, do your home work on who is coming into your home. Dont call Gillece and dont allow Adam in your house. 1294341

The tech came out and told me that my furnace needed a complete renovation and it would cost me $8000. Then he told me he could fix my existing furnace for $2500+ but recommended that I replace the whole unit. A salesperson from Gillece then came to my house and tried to get me to spend $16000 on a new furnace and heat pump. Then I called a local heating and air conditioning guy who came to my house and looked at my furnace. He fixed it for $275 and it has been working great for 3 months now. I called Gillece back and told them that I wanted my $95 refunded because all they did was lie and try to take advantage of my wife and I. They pretty much told me to pound salt and the $95 was non-refundable. They didn't even offer an apology. DO NOT CALL GILLECE FOR ANY REASON UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. |
